“The body scan can be done sitting in a chair or lying down.

Begin by settling into the body in whatever posture works best for you using a blanket for warmth if you need and if you’re lying down having the legs lie long and the feet falling gently away from each other with the arms by the side with palms facing up if that’s comfortable for you. Resting into the body right now, perhaps noticing the places were the body meets the floor or mat or chair just taking in the points of contact from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet. You may notice a sense of ease or release in some parts of the body and a sense of tension or tightness in other parts… not asking the body to be any different than it is but rather accepting what is present right now with an attitude of openness and kindness…. ”
