Creating Action

This is the first in a series of posts that will debunk life coaching myths and explain the principles of the life coaching process in simple terms.
You need a process of discovery before implementing an action plan
First step is to focus on values and to your strengths.
Most people underestimate their strengths. Therefore, we need to construct a strengths inventory – use a brainstorm if necessary.
Kick ‘weaknesses’ out of your vocabulary – use words such as ‘barriers’, ‘roadblock’, ‘obstacles’ – words that enable you to overcome such challenges.
People will remember 4 negative events to every 1 positive event. Therefore, there is a need to counterbalance.
Goals are built on strengths
Often what supports you is what you take out of your life, not what you add. Consequently, we need to remove roadblocks before they create a problem.
In creating an action plan you will have a roadmap and be able to track your progress and visually see the benefit of the coaching process.
