A resource I have found useful in understanding the concept of flourishing is ‘Flourish’ by Dr Seligman. Let’s start by examining some of the key findings:

The ‘what went well’ exercise (‘Three Blessings’)

  1. The idea is to set aside 10 minutes every day and write down what went well and WHY?
  2. The gratitude visit.. write a letter of gratitude to an individual; arrange to meet that person and read the letter.. notice their reaction
  3. Active, constructive responding.. ask a person questions so that they can relive an event
